Disney Vacation Planning 101

Your first question is probably why you should trust my opinion about all things Disney, and rightly so.  My love for Disney was passed on at birth - I've visited Walt Disney World at least once every year since I was born.  At the ripe old age of 32, I've taken close to 50 trips and spent many more days than that in the 'Happiest Place on Earth'.   Needless to say I'm passing along the tradition - my almost 2 year old has been to WDW three times and taken 2 Disney cruises.  It's ridiculous and I know it.  Some people go to the beach every year.....we go to Disney.

I'll be posting on topics related to planning and vacationing at WDW every weekday in June & I'll include the links here, so you can bookmark this page & check back to make sure you don't miss a post!

I've always hesitated to write about how we do Disney because it's certainly not the only way.  If you are planning a 'once-in-a-lifetime' trip I would do some things differently.  Remember -  I know I'm going back, so I'm not trying to squeeze in every park or attraction on every trip. Usually we don't "park-hop" because we maximize the time we have at one particular place (saves money too).  I'm a firm believer in rest days between parks (your feet will thank you even if you have the most supportive of shoes) & in prioritizing your must see/must do's before you go.  Once you've done those everything else is icing on the cake! (It also limits meltdowns due to disappointment...see: kids or whiney adults).

I'm excited to share with you a few fellow WDW lovers who will guest post in areas they are experts (and to give me a day off from writing!). Over the next few weeks I'll cover everything from costs & logistics to restaurants & hotels all the way down to what to wear.  There are thousands of websites devoted to nothing but Disney and there's no way I can cover every single detail, so if I've missed answering a question you have let me know & I'll throw it into a wrap up Q&A post as we finish up this series or direct you to a website that can explain it better than me!

Happy Planning!  Don't forget - that part should be fun too!
