Kirikipress - Best of Etsy 2015

My first attempt at embroidery was at last 25 years ago on a pillowcase.  You know those cutsie flowers?  It was a baby step up from a sampler.  But I treasured that pillowcase & even took it to college, because with it went the memories of my grandma & mom teaching me the basics.

Kirikipress is a Canadian shop that provides DIY kits to embroider stuffed animals.  I mean - does it get more awesome?  I would have loved to learn to embroider in order to make my own doll as a kid.  Frankly I want to make one today for the baby girl.

If you are new to embroidery, the beginner kit includes all the basic tools you will need & comes with the pattern and supplies for your doll of choice.

This raccoon is so precious - I love how you basically cover the whole fabric pattern with stitches to bring new life to it!

Something in me has a soft spot for Matroyshka dolls.  The final project is so precious, plus it incorporates lots of different embroidery stitches so it would be a great challenge for a beginner or good practice for you experiences stitchers.
