Wintercroft - Best of Etsy 2015

If you've been reading the blog for long you are probably wondering what in the world happened - this shop is so unlike me.  Except it's a DIY adventure and it's almost halloween and since having a kid I've joined the 'everything gets done at the absolute last minute despite massive attempts at planning otherwise' club.  Enter the need for a last minute halloween costume.

Wintercroft is a UK based shop that has crafted patterns that you can download & print yourself to create these UNBELIEVEABLE 3D masks.  Who needs a head-to-toe costume when you can knock everyone's socks off with one of these!

There are a ton of options in their shop {so head over here & see for yourself} but I love this stag! Talk about a statement piece!

And this T-rex head?  Really how fun would this be at a kid themed dinosaur party.  Except maybe the teeth should be less pointy in that case to reduce the scare quotient.  But regardless - this is awesome.

If halloween isn't your thing, then the Super Bowl will be here before we even know it.  This 3D helmet could be printed in any color & put your team logo on the side & voila.  The diehard fan can take game day prep to a whole different level.

I'm currently living in the world of teaching animals & animal noises to the little one in these parts so I was immediately attracted to the elephant.  And probably also because who doesn't want a mask that has a bendy trunk?  And maybe because I carried the nickname elephant for a point in my life thanks to stomping around too loudly at a sleepover.  Critics I tell you - they're everywhere.

And this fish?  It's costume & mask in one and I want to find a place to wear it.  Any ideas????

Wintercroft makes their patterns compatible with letter sized & A4 paper.  Most masks take a few hours to assemble, but the more complicated the mask the longer it takes (they include a ballpark idea in the description of each mask).  You will download a PDF file then the rest is up to you!  Provide your own glue, scissors, & cardboard or card stock and the rest is history.

There's not much that I love more than a good DIY project and this definitely meets my standard - a little challenge and a whole lot of fun!  If you rock one of these for halloween or another party or event I would love to see your final project!  Now....to find an occasion to wear one.  To bad there's not a turkey version - that would certainly liven up any family Thanksgiving!
